    • All pool employees must be at least 15 years old.
    • Lifeguards are required to have a valid Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (valid for 2 years). Southside Place hosts (2) Lifeguard Certification courses in May. Spots are limited, so if you are in need of certification, contact Alyssa Harrison ASAP! Recertifications are also offered.
    • Swim Team Coaches work after school M-F from May 12th - June 25th approximately 3.5 hours daily. Reliability over those 7 weeks is very important to ensure a safe and fun swim team experience! Coaching Experience is preferred but not required. Previous or current participation in competitive swim is strongly preferred.
      • Swim Coaches have the opportunity to make additional income as Swim Lesson Instructors! This is a popular program for young Southside Swimmers each year and is exclusively available to swim coaches. Lessons are able to be hosted at Southside Pool.
  • Camp
    • We welcome counselors as young as 14-year-old at Summer Camp. We also welcome 13-year-old volunteers at Summer Camp; check with your school or organization to check eligibility for required service hours.
    • Camp orientation includes CPR and First Aid Training for all Counselors. In addition, online MinistrySafe Child Safety System training is required for all staff and volunteers at Southside Camp. The City of Southside Place sponsors all required trainings for Camp, meaning there is no cost to you.
