Summer Camp

Get ready for another amazing year of Southside Camp! The Parks and Recreation Department has paired up with a committee of parents to help improve summer camp. We will be honoring the longstanding traditions of Southside Place Summer Camp while bringing new activities, more supervision, and general improvements to camp. Unfortunately, Jeff Carrus and Jessica Peoples will not be able to return this summer for camp. We have hired a new Camp Director, Abby Carrol, who is very excited to lead the camp.  Jeff will help out in the background to ensure a smooth transition in leadership. Abby teaches math at YES Prep in Spring Branch and oversees all programming for the 9th grade. She also worked on the Camp Ozark leadership team so she is very familiar with summer camp programming. We have also hired a new Little Room Lead, Kale Kusler, who is thrilled to be on board. Kale is a kindergarten teacher in Rosenberg and has a lot of activities planned for our young campers this summer. We are still looking to hire an Art Room Lead. If you or anyone you know might be interested, please have them reach out to Andrew Deavers.

This year will be another amazing experience available only to Southside residents!  Campers must be season pass holders of the Southside Place Parks Department. If your family is not yet a season pass holder or if you have any other questions about camp, please contact Andrew Deavers at adeavers@southsideplacetx.gov.
