Summer Camp
WELCOME CAMPERS!
Southside Summer Camp is a beloved neighborhood tradition and a great way for kids to make friends while enjoying a summer packed with activities! Southside Camp is open to season pass holders and welcomes potty-trained children as young as 3 through middle school age.
This year will be another amazing experience available only to Southside residents! Campers must be season pass holders of the Southside Place Parks Department. If your family is not yet a season pass holder or if you have any other questions about camp, please contact Alyssa Harrison at aharrison@southsideplacetx.gov.
HISD dismisses students for summer on June 4th and teachers on June 5th. Summer camp will begin shortly afterwards. This year’s camp will run as follows:
- 1st Session: Monday, June 8th – Friday, June 26th (Monday - Friday, 10am - 4pm)
- 2nd Session: Monday, July 6th – Friday, July 24th (Monday - Friday, 10am - 4pm)
Programs
Two camps run side by side in the clubhouse during June and July: a Preschool Camp for ages 3–6 and the “Big Room” Camp for older children. Parents can place their 6-7 year old children in the Big Room and request a little extra attention to ensure a smooth transition from the Little Room.
Activities
Each summer brings a mix of excitement and variety—sweet treats like donuts on a string and Kona Ice, creative projects, and favorites such as laser tag, visits from our Southside Place First Responders, and getting creative in the clubhouse kitchen! Campers also enjoy classic games in the park, movie days with popcorn, and special events ranging from magic shows to reptile visits. It’s fun-filled, supervised freedom all summer long.
Registration
Registration packets will be available starting at our Summer Program Kickoff Party at the Clubhouse on March 4th, with everything you need inside: registration instructions, fee details, camp schedule, and information about the directors. You are able to register online or pick up a packet from City Hall starting on March 5th if you aren't able to make it to the Kickoff Party.
